My doctor has me considering taking valium to aid in decreasing my spasticity. I take Baclofen already, l have been trying different muscle relaxers and experimenting with dosage and combining them. They have really only worked to make me sleepy all day. What, if any, experience do you have with taking Valium to aid with mobility? Thanks!

I know what you mean "Is it the MS?" or "The meds?" That's why I don't take any of the ABC drugs. DRS. and such can't tell if the drugs are working or not. I only take what I need to feel good.

@A MyMSTeam Member I have been taking it on and off for about 6 months. I was first on Robaxin. Honestly I dont think either one of them did much for me. I was so sick of taking meds that I just slowly stopped, with my dr approval. I went off neurontin because I was sick of the weight gain and still having nerve issues randomly so I was weaned off it. Still not losing weight but it's only been a few weeks. Dr said it can take awhile for your metabolism, etc to get back to "normal". Funny because once I stopped, the fogginess, dizziness, cognitive issues seemed to lift. I went on neurontin before my diagnosis in Oct because all of this started due to nerve pain, tingling, etc started last July. I still have some random nerve pain but I can deal with it for now but really do think that the Neurontin made me feel worse. It stinks sometimes not knowing is it the MS, the meds, withdrawal from the meds, etc... big sigh :-)

Danielle T, How long have you been taking Baclofen? I have been taking it for 20+yrs.now it only made me sleepy when I first started 10mg x3 daily now I have been taking it x4 daily 20mg. After a level is reached your body should ajust to it.

Bacolfen can make me feel sleepy and just sluggish, Valium seems to take the edge off but doesn't make me sleepy. I take Klonpin daily and can function like a champ and that is in the same Benzo class as valium
