My family doctor just prescribed Hydromorphone for me to take 3 x's a day for pain. I'm soooo relieved to finally have something to help me cope with the constant pain I have. Has anyone else taken it? How long? I think the only side effect I've noticed so far is increased sweating, which isn't very attractive for a woman! :-)

Summer, you just described my treatment almost to the letter. Morphine 15mg 3x,adderall 30mg x2, ativan 1mg 3x (not xanax). That's just pain management. I take ALOT of meds

Went through years & all kinds of tests, trial/error meds (on meds & off) i have a blood clotting disorder also which might/might not be adding to my symptoms...they dont know that much about the blood disorder either (just like ms- not sure what caused it, cant cure it YET, but can just keep it under control with...meds)....i know, i feel like a "breathing chemical" sometimes w/all these meds : )

I've actually switched to oxycodone 10 mgs, 3-4 times a day. I take Excedrin around the clock too. Some days are pretty good, and some days, even with all those pain meds, I can barely move. I also have zanax to take to go to sleep on those nights that I just can't fall asleep on my own. It's not a sleeping med, but it makes me fall asleep right away with zero grogginess the next day. I also take 60 mgs of cymbalta a day too. I think that helps with the pain too and also helps with depression from being in so much pain. I HATE being on all these drugs, but without them, I'd curl up into a ball and never move again.
Hang in there Josh. I'm really blessed to have a doctor who listens and is willing to prescribe the hard stuff for me.

To a 2 or 3 and my pain. Knows that I'm able to function on Dilaudid a lot better then on the oxycodone and oxycontin but he won't write anything higher so I'm stuck here suffering but I'm glad to hear that you're doing well

I wish my pain doctor was as generous in compassionate as your doctor is. My pain doctor has cut me off and has told me that he won't prescribe no more than 15 milligrams of Oxycodone 5 times a day and Oxycotin 20 milligrams twice a day and it doesn't seem to cut through the pain but since my diagnosis this last October I have had for relapses and have had to be hospitalized and they gave me Dilaudid for pain and it helps out so much that it brings my pain down from an 8 or 9
