Does anyone experience clonus? If so, how do you cope with it? I know stretching helps, but any other good suggestions?

Clonus is a series of involuntary, rhythmic muscle contractions & relaxation. For me, it usually happens when I'm sitting but recently has done it when standing or trying to take a step. My calves are so tight so I'm usually on my tiptoes. So when I put pressure on my tiptoes my legs start to do funny, fast, jumping or bouncing motion. The only way I can get it to stop is to push down on my knees until I can get my feet flat or I pick my leg up. If I get the legs to relax that usually helps. When it first started it wasn't too bad & I could get it to stop pretty quickly. Now, it happens frequently & it's pretty vigorous. I don't have any pain with it but it's so annoying. My kids think it looks pretty funny & as soon as they see it start they run over, put all their weight on them & hold it until it stops. That's probably not a very good explanation but hopefully makes a little sense. Of course, everything with MS doesn't make a lot of sense!

I have it but didn't know there was a name for it! My right ankle shakes back and forth so fast like a leaf in the wind. It usually happens to me in the am before my meds kick in.
