I was thinking about trying Oxytrol transdermal patches for overactive bladder. Has anyone had experience with these? I generally avoid drugs and wonder if this might have side effects.

@A MyMSTeam Member Hi Laurie..I have the same problem..Neuro wouldn't talk to me about it at all ?? I have a friend who also has MS and has for many years. She found a fix for her and I am trying it right now..Believe it or not it is Pumpkin Seed Oil Extract..not too expensive. If you type it into Google you should be able to find it.
I started using it a couple of weeks ago and am finding I am not getting up as much at night nor do I have to pee constantly during the day no matter how much water I drink.
PS the company is Aviva..I know they don't like us to promote stuff on here and I don't usually, but this seems to be working and you can avoid another Drug. I will let you know how it is going. xx

I love the Oxytrol patches! I don't seem to get a whole lot of dry mouth or anything with them. The only thing I notice is that they don't stick well for me, so I use medical tape to hold them on.

It took maybe a year of dialogue with my neuro I needed urodynamic testing. While the bladder is a neurological process the functional aspect is urological and sometimes doc doesn't want to share that with another doc (spoken with good humor). If a certain Rx was recommended then I could evaluate that drug and work my way down to user friendly OTC meds.
Thus far I have avoided any drug to treat overactive bladder issues. With MS and its fuzzy signs and symptoms
the diagnosis is a shot in the dark, viz., is it MS, an enlarged prostate, neurological collapse, or a cocktail of all of the above? After two years of neurological and urological observations cathing is the treatment of choice without complimentary drug use. Still, I am open to suggestions/discussions from y'all. I wonder if eating pumpkin pie might be the cure? I like pie.
Right now I am so disgusted with MS and its multitude of annoyances a primal scream sounds absolutely therapeutic!
Yesterday I was in doc's office and asked for the magic MS pill, the brightly colored one. He laughed as he showed me the door. The man knows his limits.

My neuro has always just waved me off when I've mentioned bladder problems. Now it's been 5 years since I've been to him - very long story. @A MyMSTeam Member I've been using the Oxytrol patches for a few days now. So far no differences. I was hoping for at least some relief. I'm disappointed.
