I am doing it without the meds...other than the ones for symptoms like Neurontin and Baclofen - I was on Betaseron for a while and it seemed to make me worse, I actually had more relapses when I took it. (at least I think I did) I have had solumedrol and the side effects of that are not worth it. If I just tough out a flare I am usually better in about 6 to 8 weeks... I know not everyone can do that and I don't know if it is even wise, but I am currently living in a country where I cannot get other meds. Like the oral drugs. I would have to pay for them -full price and that isn't possible. So I try to be careful exercise as much as I can, swimming or walking mostly, try to eat right, and hope for the best.
I do take LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) at bed but that is not one of the 'approved' MS meds by any means. Other than that it is all about diet, exercise, and attitude (ha - DEA - disease enforcement agency). Oh - lots of supplements too. I've been given the PPMS tag so I don't really have any viable DMD options anyway.
Hi, I considered going without meds and asked my doctor and dis some research on my own. The consensus seems to be that since the DMD's are available, you should take them, even though you may need to try a few before you get it right. Best to you.
I take two for symptoms and the rest I take vitamins and diet
I'm not on meds either only symptomatic meds like GypsyFay. I do feel I'm progressing but very slowly.
