Dizziness is what brought me into the clinic in the first place when I was first diagnosed, so this is nothing new for me. The Neurologist does not necessarily believe that my dizzy spells are due to the MS, however. I've seen an ENT, I've done vestibular therapy, they can't find anything wrong with my ears, etc. Nothing is working.

My Nero sent to an eye specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr Lystad. She diagnosed me with Internuclear Ophthalmoplegia (INO). She said that I have a lesion on my brain stem. It causes my left eye not to keep up with my right eye. It causes dizziness. Sometimes I get nauseous. Sometimes just closing my eyes helps calm down the dizziness. When I go into stores and I am looking for things I will get a feeling like I am going to pass out. She also started me on Neurontoin. I started on a low dose and increased it until I felt my symptoms subsiding. Hope this helps.
Vertigo is an ms symptom. Is it like that? Nearly all of my life I've had dizzy spells. As always the dr's answer is nothing is wrong, just stress. Has anyone checked your heart? That can cause dizzy spells.

Wow! Who knew? I don't think I have any lesions on my brain stem or cerebellum, which is why my Neuro doesn't think my dizziness is MS related, but I should double check. Maybe instead of ENT and Neuro, I should see an Opthalmologist! I have never had any eye issues with my MS though and my VEP (checkerboard test) was normal.

Like I said, typically it only lasts 30 seconds to a few minutes, but when it's happening, it's quite severe - to the point where I've fallen or thrown up. It got better (less frequent) after my last round of Solu Medrol (last September), and now it's back, and just as bad if not worse than before.
