I have a question. My Neuro told me that insurance doesn't like paying for the pills until you try the shots. Is this the truth?
@A MyMSTeam Member the Techifdura cost us same amount. We have insurance & use the assistance programs thru the drug makers. But the amount billed yearly is over 50grand.
Sorry the med is not offered for ppms.
I went right on pills, never took the shots. I assume every insurance company is different.
It's good to call your insurance company or go to their website to find out. I don't think you have to start with shots. You can go on pills as long as it's a first line of therapy. I think drugs like Tysabry are considered a second line of therapy. It also depends on what teir the drug is. Some drug companies give good better deals thAn others to the insurance companies.
I wouldn't call you don't wount them to know if doc thinks you have pp ms most insurances wont pay on meds for pp tey give up on you with no cure or hope,if like me it was a slow worsening from start cant say there where any relapses
