He hears you...do not doubt it. When pain, burning, itching get the better of me I, reluctantly, take a pain killer or diazepam. I currently am having difficulty with anxiety. It could be because of my huge weight loss and the disappointment I feel because the weight loss, 165 lbs., has done nothing to help the MS. NOTHING!!. I feel defeated but I will not give up and I will never give in. The disease makes you alert to everything going on with your body. The MS is relentless. It never stops. It is always doing something even though you have no symptoms. When I hear shit like remission, I want to scream. It NEVER goes into remission. It just lays low but it is continually wrecking your life. I have times when I don't want to get out of bed or do anything. But I do not give in. I get up and continue like a normal person would. I miss working more than anything. I was a Realtor for many, many years until the MS got the upper hand. I am blessed to have such wonderful children, fabulous husband and my brother who I adore. Without them and my four grandchildren I cannot imagine what my life would be like. I would probably be in a nursing home with others in the same condition. I would rather be dead in that instance. You MUST keep fighting. God is there and so are your guardian angels. Lean on them during your worst moments. They will help you through your worst pain and suffering. I, too, suffer...I just refuse to let the disease get the better of me. Keep up your spirits. Read, write in a journal, do word puzzles...anything to keep your mind working. You are in my prayers. May God be with you.
Peace, Mary Ann I am always here for you.
Your wheelchair should have a J-cushion so you can relieve the pressure. Tell your doc about the burning. He may be able to prescribe a medication to alleviate that nastiness. You are experiencing tight bands around your body. They really suck and are uncomfortable. I think I have had every MS symptom at one time or another. Talk to the Lord...He really is listening. Take care and never give up and never give in. Fight with everything you have in you. Peace, Mary Ann
I have similar kinds of pain as @A MyMSTeam Member. I am taking Lyrica (Pregabalin) for the neurological pain and it is working for me. It doesn't deal with the muscle pain, but it does take away much of the stinging, burning, stabbing pain and the ants crawling under the skin pain. I also take Baclofen for the muscle spasms - this helps somewhat with the muscle pain. I have also had botox injections in my leg to stop really bad muscle spasms - my foot would twist up and it felt like it was going to break - it was awful! The botox has really helped with that, but it wears off, so you need an injection every three months. My neuro has also suggested Cannabinoids. I don't take them - they are legal here - because they tend to cause brain fog, which I cannot take (I already deal with some and I need to think for my job), and because I am concerned that they would cause a positive test when I am trying to get into remand to see a client. My neuro also said that narcotics tend not to work for MS pain, but that if nothing else was relieving it, and I was in need of relief, then we could try it. I also declined those. The issue with MS pain, neurological pain, and chronic pain, is that they are not the same as the pain that narcotics are meant to deal with, so they tend not to work (and in some cases make it worse) because they do not act on the pathways that cause the pain. I hope you get some relief. I am just now starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel - the pain is not all consuming all the time anymore. I hope you get some too.
Hi! my pain is a burning, stinging, never ending pain. the biggest part of me that hurts is my feet. I feel like I am walking on hot coals. across my back in the middle like where my bra crosses the middle of my back iI've been whipped with a switch across the middle of my back and it burns like I have never even imagine how awful it could feel. and now ihave the pain coming on my bottom as well. I'm in a wheelchair. so it doesn't matter what I do I have to sit on my bottom all day long so I feel the burn so intensely all the time
Ask your doctor for something different.
