Anyone else get a nuclear stress test because of abnormal stress test? What I thought was the MS hug isn't.
FEMALES should ALWAYS get a 'nuclear stress' or 'stress ECHO'! (I was a career-cardiology nurse, in academic hospitals, so I do know about cardiology testing)
@A MyMSTeam Member No I have not had a stress test of any kind, although I am thinking that perhaps I should.
@A MyMSTeam Member I actually find that the Lyrica has helped me. It has dulled most of the sharp, stingy, burning pain that I recognize as nerve pain. It did unfortunately cause me to gain about 25 pounds. I'm losing that again (thankfully - the wheelchair has already made me need to get a whole new wardrobe, I really don't need to add to that with weight gain).
@A MyMSTeam Member Thanks for all of your clarifications. I was reading this through my own concerns and filters, and was not sufficiently informed to understand your initial comments. I have been doing some research on my own as well - prompted by your posts - so thank you for that.
My concern when reading this stream is that the tightness in my chest, and the occasional squeezing pain, feeling as if I cannot get a deep breath, light-headedness, and big stabbing pain through my back and chest have not stopped. Reading this makes me wonder if the issue is cardiac related in addition to the nerve pain that might be called an MS Hug. I see my neuro on Wednesday, I'll ask her about it then. I also see my PC later that afternoon, so I will as her about it as well.
Why get the stress echo...just curious. ITs been a few years now. I was discovered to have a BENIGN LBBB.....My dr. daughter told me without symptoms there is no need to get tested again.
Thanks @A MyMSTeam Member
I HAVE TO CORRECT THIS=... "a simple nuclear stress test is not conclusive enough for females.... "
What I should have said is THIS (note absence of "nuclear") = "a SIMPLE STRESS TEST is not conclusive enough for females" (everything ELSE I mentioned is accurate)
