I have been getting breathing problems particularly at night, it's like my throat area tightens up and I struggle to get air in...I also get a foul bitter taste in my mouth. Usually the breathing difficulties subside after a couple of hours but tonight it's been going all night and I'm really worried...I can't lay down or sleep. It's deff not asthma either.
Sounds like what is known as the "MS hug" tightness in the chest and throat area. Feels like I am struggling to breathe. The best I can do is relax, concentrate on slow deep breathing, and not panic. Generally, it gets better after a while. Be sure to talk to your care provider, document when, how often and duration of symptoms, it's important information that your doctor needs. The more specific we are the better help our doctors can provide.
I gasp for air all the time. My husband thinks it's cause I'm mad at him, but usually it's not. Is it from constriction on the rib cage?
I don't get acid reflux I don't have any of the symptoms of it at all
I don't think it sounds like "ms hug" at all........my ms hugs are VERY painful around my diaphragm, not at all close to my throat. I would call your neurologist nurse and ask if I were you.
All I know is this had come on after a couple of days of using my asthma puffa albuterol ..which I just read is a nervous system stimulant :/
