I lost eye sight in my left eye in January and it's still not back propley.how long does it normally take to come back, doing my head in now
I'm having this problem, too. My doctor told me it could be 6 months to a year for whatever improvement will happen, but they didn't get me on steroids until the second attack so I might have permanent damage. I won't know until I give it time, they say.
I had to go a week on steroids in January
I did the eyesight shuffle 30_years ago, took me months to figure out it was a direct response to heat. Air conditioning brought me back to 20-20 from 600-800_back then. Prednisone was all they had and it helped. Solumedrol works wonders. Put post its around the house as you wander around all night with ample energy to do the honey do lists.
Yayyyy that's what they put me on! Hopefully I don't get depressed I suffer from it already.... Sorry I'm not really educated on ms I really got diagnosed yesterday believe it or not.
Bee, the magic medicine for most of us (at least for the first decade or so of having MS) is a steroid infusion called Solumedrol. Given as an IV in doses between 500 and 1000 mg for 3-5 days. The dose honestly depends on two things: 1) how aggressive your neurologist is, and 2) how well you can tolerate it. This stuff works wonders, but it does damage of it's own, too. You have to keep your belly full or you'll get ulcers. You will NOT sleep until the day after your last IV, and you will get depressed.
But.... You will see again!
