I have had the same thing when I was on Rebif. I have been dx'd 11yrs and have been through a lot. I am to the point where I don't trust myself with a firearm. I think having MS adds to suicidal thoughts and depression/ makes it easier to be suicidal.

I don't know either but will tell you that while on Rebif, I lived the darkest period of my life. I've had 2 divorces, lived away from any family for 18 yrs., survived childhood sexual abuse and never thought of taking my life...until I was on Rebif. I made my hubby loves lock up our guns & monitor my meds and was scared for myself when he went to work each night. Thankfully switching to Copaxone changed all of that but Rebif has a very high incidence of severe depression and it is in the warnings. I just couldn't see the light that is always there. It blocked out everything. Anyone struggling with those kinds of thoughts needs to definitely re-evaluate your meds & get to their doctor. I'm so sorry about your best friend. I cannot begin to fathom the heartbreak you are living thru but will keep you in my prayers & pray for your strength & happiness. Hope is the one word I go to and it fills my house everywhere. Tomorrows are filled with it. 🌻

Not sure about suicide rates. I do have moments of desperation though, they eventually pass.

I only know of one and it is because her husband divorced her when she was diagnosed.
