I'm neither a believer or a non believer, religion plays no part in my life really.

I see lots of references on this site, mainly by Americans and do wonder, given the reason we're all here, why you continue to offer praise and defence ?

I see comments like God never gives you more than you can handle etc. Surely if that was the case there would be no suicides.

I don't understand this almost giving thanks for the supposed creator and puppet master treating his children in this way.

What on earth… read more

@A MyMSTeam Member, That's a million dollar question. In the shortest answer possible from me is that I don't do religion, I do a relationship with Jesus Christ. He took this hate filled, bigoted, sexist man & did a complete overhaul. Now I love everybody. Jesus loves everybody, all we need to do is love him back by loving others. That would fix the whole world & make satan a non issue the way it's intended to be. Peace & Love Yoda

I think this was an interesting topic. I believe that there are a lot of religious references made on this web site. I believe many of the people on this site discover a sense of support, purpose, motivation, community through the expression of their religious beliefs. This helps many deal with some of the worst aspects of this disease - pain, sense of loss, loneliness etc.

I believe that in the United States where religious freedom as guaranteed in the constitution is one of the reasons religion is such an important part of American society. This country was partly founded by people escaping religious persecution, one of the main reasons I think that it became a protected right in the US constitution. It is true that compared with most other so called western, developed nations religion is less important. This is true in most of Western Europe where even people baptized into a religion, or barmitzved, etc. find that society on the whole there is more secular in that part of the world. They are less likely to discuss their religious beliefs, attend church, synagogue, or mosque because the society as a whole places less emphasis on religion.
I also believe that because one of the founding beliefs of Christianity is evangelism and proselytizing, Christians especially do tend to announce their convictions and beliefs and share them with others.
These are just opinions I have formulated over the years living in the USA and five countries in Europe - the UK (Protestant but largely secular), France (Catholic traditionally officially secular), Spain (Catholic - secular), Greece (Greek orthodox - mainly secular now).
One of the things I do appreciate about the site and the people that use it is their continued respect in not forcing their beliefs onto others, be they political, religious, medical, or otherwise, respecting others opinions and values and not letting this become a platform for something that is not a reason for why we are here. There are too many places on the Internet where expression can spiral into something negative very quickly. I have to say this is the first site where I have not read one negative comment aimed at a particular group or person for whatever reason. It gives credence and value to the common thread which connects us all - not the MS but the unconditional support and understanding we have for one another. Peace out! 😊❤️

So we all have MS. Each of us are different. I for one have had a wonderful life even with MS.
Do I believe. Yes. Everything I have asked God for in my life (that was not a WANT) I have gotten in time. No I have never asked to be cured. I ask to walk, talk, ear, see and breath. I want for others not for me.
Do I truely believe knowing that scientifically it doesn't make any sense.
Yes Yes I do.
God is not a USA thing. God is your own faith, belief, heart and soul.
