Does anyone else out here suffer from Gastroparesis, also know as "frozen stomach" or "dumping syndrome"? I ask bc this is the latest 'issue' in my life. I'm wondering if there is more than a maybe chance that this goes hand in hand with our good old friend, MS.

Also, if possible...if anyone has any tips on dealing with this annoying condition, I'd be more than grateful!!

Thanks everyone, hope all is well.

I was just dx with gastroparesis, ibs-d, chronic gastritis. None are fun! I have found that taking probiotics help as well as avoiding certain foods (you might have to do elemination diet to figure out which are the ones for you) eat smaller meals, eat more frequently. The doc told me to eat every 2-3 hours and keep everything as close to fat free as possible. Each item I try to stay btwn 0-7 grams of fat. Also drinking your food helps out too, like the shakes you can make and smoothies, but liquid empties through the system better than solids. Anything spicy can cause issues as well and of course anything fried is bad for it!

I have been doing a ton of reading on the issues so if you want to chat more just message me!

I have it too, very small meals and avoid drinking while eating helps. Mine has improved over the years :)

I have rapid bowel transit. It was out of control for 5 years. It has subsided after several rounds of prednisone and immunosuppressant. I found that a low residue diet, eating lots of Dannon yogurt and eating several small meals instead of big ones helped. Immodium AD was my constant companion at that time. Please see a GI doctor to make sure it does not have another cause. Good luck

I have been dealing with the issues for a few years, the best thing I found for it is getting out and walking, which most of us have a hard time being able to do. Hear of late I have been going to the mall before the stores open and walking around window shopping and just basically keep moving. Stay active and I hope you all have a great day.

Hi Tracey, the VA gives me different meds but I found that eating Activa yogurt has worked the best! The "lite" version does not seem to be as effective as the standard. High in sugar but worth it!
