Is anyone out there doing only diet and exercise? My diet and exercise is on point but my family is afraid for me to stop taking my MS medication all together. I'm not even sure if it's doing anything.
I am seriously considering stopping my medication and going purely holistic.
I took injections of copaxone then rebif for 8 and half years and continued to have relapses and get worse. after much research, I decided to stop the meds and try a more natural therapy. I'm on a specialized diet comparable to Wahls diet and do leg strengthen and balance improving exercises four or five days a week. have not had a relapse in almost five years and am still pretty mobile. I don't have very good strength of stamina and have to stop and rest a couple of times each day. I understand the risk taken being off dmd's, but the continued relapses, side effects and terrible feeling of being over medicated leads me to believe this therapy is best for me. I still struggle with this disease but it seems the fight is more manageable now. and I should add, last week I did start on a medicine called nuvigil to help with ms fatigue and have been very pleased with it so far.
Hi Nicolette...I have started juicing since a friend of mine given only 6 months to live from cancer and 6 1/2 yrs later the doctors can't believe she's so far beat the odds,so I thought why not give it a shot....see if it will help myself out, right now I am in the added fatigue along with MS fatigue ....only been juicing for a week but will let you know how I feel once out of the detox part of it
@A MyMSTeam Member that's OK. Maybe someone will have some information for the both of us!
Just put Sue to bed. We are still trying to be gluten and dairy free and eat loads of veg. Sue is so much better and so much less fatigued. She is still on meds though.
