I used to be a smoker and I have almost stopped smoking! The only time I smoke now is socially which is about 2 to 3 cigarettes a day ! So I want to if I could replace those few cigs with vaping?
i was a 1-2 pack a day smoker for almost 40 years. I tried everything to quit smoking had the best luck with the welbutrin but i still couldn't kick the habit till i started vaping. Its has been almost 2 years since i had a cigarette and i have been reducing the amount of nicotine as i have been vaping, i started with 12mg and i am now down to .02 mg and hoping to be nicotine and vape free by the end of the year. I think i will be able to quit all thanks to vaping.
As far as making the symptoms of MS worse or better i did not notice a difference between the 2.However with vaping being compared to cigarettes i feel i breathe easier and am more active now which helps with the MS and the fatigue levels.
Would i recommend vaping over cigarettes my answer is a firm yes, its worth a try for you.
Never touched a cigarette the first 36 years of my life, then wanted to learn so I could use marijuana for my MS symptoms. I have dealt with asthma since I was a child.
I picked up some different flavours of nicotine free vaping liquid (e-juice or whatever you want to call it) and self taught myself to inhale, against advice of everyone I knew.
Lots of research into the ingredients used, and decided it was not bad. Stuff that goes into smoke machines for visual effects and food grade vegetable glycerin to hold on to the artificial flavourants; both which are found in most manufactured foods.
Social news media has been wonderful in creating a panic about the negatives, overheating and exploding batteries (which is a possibility to happen in anything that has a battery), and the wonderful candy type flavors and earlier ease at being able to procure the vape pens and liquids.
Cigarette smoke still makes me choke and have me reaching for my inhaler, vaping just drys put my mouth and throat and speed at which this happens depends greatly on the heat temperature I have selected, more so than the flavour and mix ratio the manufacturer uses for their line of juices.
Using a vaping device for marijuana does not work for me, I can not handle the heat of the vapor, so I use a bubbler instead.
The vaping products do work wonderfully for getting rid of the smell of pot, and the taste of if too.
I would never have have enjoyed using marijuana recreationally as the smell and taste of it is disgusting, but it does work. Yes I have tried many different strains and types of dry marijuana but the smell of it all just makes me nauseated to varing levels.
I'm not saying you should stop. But as it can cause health problems and your MS is more than likely to worsen, trying to cut back or quit may help with things in the long run. Good question.
Hi there,
We have an amazing researcher in the UK, Dr Michael Mosley who does alsorts of experiments for TV documentaries. I watched one recently and he showed the difference in a persons health by taking the tobacco out of smoking, substituting with vaping. It took on a lot of the myths surrounding their use and the conclusion was that they were a lot better as an alternative in the reduction and eventual stopping of smoking.
Obviously there have been no long term analysis, so not sure you should use it as a forever substitute, just use them to quit. X
@A MyMSTeam Member I have never heard of herbal cigarettes !! I am thinking about vaping weed in small qty to completely replace normal vaping but will have to find the CBD oils here first lol
