I dislocated my right knee for the first time, after having dislocated the left knee three separate times ten years ago, ultimately undergoing corrective surgery. Could this be related to MS? or worsened by MS? Should my MS doc check me out, or no?
I always call my Neuro if I consider doing anything medical. I do this because I take some meds prescribed by
Your GP, in fact all your Drs should be aware of all your medications, Rx's and OTC. Usually, a GP should play the roll of the middle man or communicator. If you are seeing a specialist for any reason that specialist would send any medical notes to your GP, he/she in return will determine if your neurologist needs this info.
...oops, meds prescribed by my Neuro Dr Bowling. My GP also chooses to call him to be sure what he wants to prescribe won't clash with his remedies for me. My health insurance also requires that the two Drs communicate for financial reasons. My GP is a Dr recognized by my insurance plan and because my Neurp is out of network that communication is required for my coverage. Good luck to you on your healing journey.
I would always talk to neuro to make sure they are in the loop from a medication and treatment perspective. Are you on any meds to treat spasms
like Baclofen? My knees have a history of dislocation too so I won't take any meds for spasm even though I could really use them. I'm too afraid that they would make me more likely to dislocate my knee. Good luck!
