Fecal Incontenence

A MyMSTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is anyone on Questran for bowel issues? If so, what side effects are you experiencing? It's usually prescribed to lower cholesterol but is also used to help with fecal incontinence. Are bowel issues pretty common in MS? TIA

I don't know if its a common issue, but i would like to find out. Because it seems the year i was diagnosed I have had issues of frequency especially if i change my daily schedule like changing shifts. Its just crazy and embarrassing to go out of town to an event with a group of people and all i can do is hunt out the suitable restrooms in the area.

I have them too. Chronic constipation and urinary problems like constant UTIs and urinary retention.
I hope all works for you💙

I try to eat nothing with a face and that helps. 99% of my diet has been plant based for five years now!

Thank you everyone. The Questran is working great. No fecal incontinence or chronic diarrhea. I also have urinary retension issues. My Neuro doesn't think MS is causing the fecal incontinence and diarrhea issues. when It's MS related, it has something to do with lesions on the spine and loss of control.
