I'm losing my medical benefits from work. I'm in need of my disease modifying drugs. Does anybody have any recommendations.

Two questions here: first, you should be offered COBRA for 18 months through your current provider. Take it, apply for disability, and this should hold you over until your Medicare kicks in. Other option would be to see if you qualify for healthcare through affordable care act, obamacare. Also, if you are "in need of a dmd" sounds like you aren't currently prescribed one. Get your doctor to prescribe it, and contact the pharma to see what they offer as far as grants, etc. to pay for it.

Yes, COBRA will be expensive as it reflects the full cost of your premium that the employer is covering. Please contact your DMD manufacturer and ask if they offer a zero copay for people in your situation. For tax reasons,YOU need to bring the subject up with them and in most cases the companies have low-to-no copays available but due to the laws they can't tell you about the programs, YOU need to ask. Do this ASAP. It does not matter if you currently have insurance or not, there is funding available.

Do you Cobra available? If so, that's one way to keep getting the same benefits. Are you getting a severance package? You should talk to your HR rep about your options. I too recently became unemployed, I got a nice severance package, which is a relief.
