What do you like about your Neurologist?
When looking for a Dr. what office procedures qualities are important to you?
If you were to create or design a clinic for those with MS what would be important to you?
I am thinking about looking for a new neutologist and would like to have some important traits in a office /clinic that I choose. So I thought your knowledge and experience would be great. Thank you.
When I first met him, 8 years ago, he asked me what I thought was wrong. When I told him I believed I had advanced to secondary progressive, he didn't tell me I was wrong. He agreed. The capacity to actually LISTEN 2 patients is crucial.
I would (and will) ask them how much actual experience do you have with ms patients? I believe my first one had very little, she was not very knowledgable about real things that effect people with ms.
His or Her credentials, what others say about him or her.
He was straightforward and laid out the treatment plan, asked for my input and then proceeded forward. He didn't sugar coat anything. Told me flat out that the pain would be back and that it was a permant part of my life now. He was gentle in the telling but I liked that he did not give me false hope. I am a realist and he is as well.
She's extremely smart and I was able to look at videos of her way before I even met her. She's one main doctors at MS Center highly recommended
