I am still struggling with how to handle my private student loans. I filed for Disability Discharge, as suggested, and my application was accepted. Navient will release my name from the loans but that leaves my cosigners responsible. My cosigners are retired and living off social security. How will this work? I'm trying to stay on top of this but feel like I'm crumbling away. Is there no way out of this mess? Any suggestions? Thank you!

Thank you @A MyMSTeam Member! You always give me great advice. Navient only took a percentage off the amount I owe them. My husband brought up the idea of just keeping it in my name and pay what I now owe.

> keeper deferring, and thenjoy succeeded in nouvellement deferring Abby more. Purely be cause I had no chough. It was a guaranteed Student Loan that I had. I defaulted Inn the loan , and got referred to a final agency that allowed me to be forgiven for the loans. Yaaayyy. I did not think that was possible, bur my loans were forgiven completely.. I think that a politician with a relative with MS, we're able to pull that off, I am fortunate. Maybe you will be too.

The best I've found is to continue with deferments. The interest keeps going, but I'm not going to stress about the crazy big bill cuz they can get it when I'm.....you know, gone!

@A MyMSTeam Member I'll go consolidation and IBR. I want to find some work with a 501C3 or government organization that qualifies for forgiveness after 10yr (nontaxable forgiveness). And, Keep my fingers crossed. IDK if the Trump administration will be helpful?

if u don't have the money to pay and u r on disability maybe u can get the loan dismissed because of financial hardship A lot of credit card institutions r doing this now for people who r struggling and have MS and r disabled. Call and explain your situation. U don't know the outcome until u ask
