Has anyone had residual eye pain, pain in the eye socket and pain with eye movement after a case of Optic Neuritis has resolved? I had a case in my right eye in November of 2016, and have had the pain I mentioned in that eye very steadily ever since. My neurologist is adamant that the pain is not related to the Optic Neuritis, although I have explained to him that the pain is exactly the same as it felt with the Optic Neuritis. Can anyone shed any light?
I also have eye pain in the same eye I had ON in when I was first diagnosed. See my opthamalogist regularly and no signs of ON. Could just be nerves miss firing.
Blessings!
Thank you, @A MyMSTeam Member! These answers are really helping me make sense of it all, which helps a lot, I find!!
I had eye pain with my optic neuritis a couple of weeks ago it went away after i started steroid treatments. I had pain first then my vision started getting really bad in my right eye. My vision hasn't been the same since. So I think it is associated with optic neuritis. I'm sorry you are going through this again. It sucks. Best wishes to you.
I get eye pain mainly with headaches. I'll rub around the eye and it helps some until the ibuprofen kicks in for the headache.
I have eye pain on occasion, but no vision difficulty..
