Uveitis (inflammation inside the eye) is indeed associated with MS, though it's less commonly discussed than optic neuritis. It can cause eye redness, pain, blurred vision, and light sensitivity.
While the search results don't specifically highlight uveitis experiences from MyMSTeam members, eye problems in general are very common with MS. Here are some related eye issues that MS can cause:
- Optic neuritis – inflammation of the optic nerve, causing blurred or lost vision
- Double vision – from nerve damage affecting eye muscles
- Nystagmus – involuntary eye movements
- Dry or watery eyes
- Blind spots (scotomas) If you're experiencing uveitis symptoms, it's really important to speak with both your neurologist and an ophthalmologist. Eye issues in MS can sometimes be managed or improve over time, but getting the right diagnosis and treatment early matters a lot.
Connecting with others on MyMSTeam who've had similar eye experiences can also be a great source of support and practical tips! 👁️
