I was diagnosed with Ms using a spinal, I felt pressure no pain. Then they had me slying down not quite flate possition for a few hrs. I got up no problem and was even hungry. I think it was basically the way that positioned me afterwards.

The reason you lie down for a couple hours after is to avoid the most horrendous headache ever. Virtually painless. A bit of pressure. You'll be fine.

Sorry I never said how it went. It was just fine. Of course I am such a worry wart and again I worried for nothing lol. It wasn't bad at all, felt pressure but not bad. The hardest part was lying down and taking it easy. Of course I got up the day after and cleaned and did some laundry and I got a headache but was fine 😉

It was the spinal tap that doctors read clearly showing I had MS.
For me there was nothing to it. I had a great nurse and Consultant with me while having procedure. I was talked through everything, didn't want to see the needle. I followed advise and lay in bed for 4 hours afterwards. Best thing ever it cleared all the doubts as to what illness I may have. Best ever again I started the appropriate treatment and all is much better than it ever was. Don't worry. It's a pointless exercise. Best of luck.

I had one last year and I was scared too. But it was not at all painful and finally made my diagnosis. You have to be on your stomach but they put cushions down for comfort. I think it lasted about a half hour. They also took blood samples that day which I wasn't aware was going to happen so you might ask about that. I was fortunate to get a great doctor and nurse who talked and joked with me. Just be sure it is a reputable and experienced place and I hope you will be fine!
