Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing great ?! I have a question , my legs arms and back muscles are so friggin sore it's like I worked out hard !! They are really twitching at night the sharp pains and spasms are annoying but I actually bruised my legs massaging them . Is this pain normal ?
unfortunately, it is very normal for MS.
Im very sorry your dealing with it. its so frustrating, especially trying to sleep. be patient with yourself and reduce stress. try pacing workouts or putting your body in a daily routine for working out, so its not even more confused. but most important for my recovery has been what i eat and the meds i take. I follow Chinese medicine which is the best I think. plenty of water, protein, fats and herbal extracts like Ginkgo Gensing, red clover, burdock, yellowdock, Echinacea, goldenseal and st johns wort. keep up the fight! find peace..
I have had 2 bad nights because of leg spasms and twitching. I have had them for years, they seem to have times when they intensify. I feel like I have something moving under my skin. It travels from one place to another (it's not the crawly skin sensations, it is a deeper sensation). I hope you feel better and can get some rest.
400 mg of magnesium at night I find it eases symptoms like spasm pain and burning and you sleep better hope this helps oh magnesium in salt form is more easily absorbed better than tablet form π
About a gram of medical marijuana at night seems to help me too. Blueberries and blueberry tea help me too. You might ask your doctor about combining muscle relaxers in the evening. Mine, for example, is tizanidine and low dose baclofen. The two together keep the twitching and aching to a minimum, and let the clonazapam do it's job. (It feels like you ran 9 miles because of the spasticity. You didn't, but your muscles might as well have.)
I find often my legs get twitchy and sore at night. Hard to sleep. I do find a warm shower exhausts me so that helps just before bed. Hydration is important. Also a pain when it makes you need to pee π
