All pain meds I have been prescribed DO NOT WORK. The only one that does take the edge off is Excederin. Yes, I expect the Pain Doctor I will be going to put me on Hydrocodone or Oxycodone.

I (Jokingly) know Oxycontin would definitely work. It is twice the strength of Morphine. No thanks. Near 100% Addiction rate.

Husband had chronic migraines and migrainol (a nasal spray) is the only medication that finally worked for him. He had even tried the Botox injections to no avail.

Look into a Daith piercing. Like so much, it's definitely one of those "what works for one doesn't work for another" things, but I've known people who had success (my husband being one of them. He'd miss multiple days throughout the year for migraines and so far has only missed one day since getting it a year ago). I made an appt with a pain management doctor and upon booking I was told "the goal is to get you off of all narcotics or significantly reduce the amount you're taking", and also that they wouldn't write anything on 1st visit, but possibly at the follow up they schedule 8 weeks later, so don't get your hopes up, although of course every doctor and state is different.
