Can you have new or worsening symptoms without any MRI changes?

I agree with what Normasue said about the reoccurrence (maybe worsening) of old symptoms even though there is no new disease activity. The other thing I think off is that an exacerbation doesn't heal 100%. Later, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, interpersonal or work problems, sometimes just 'life' can cause symptoms to be more noticeable.

Ronald is correct my MS is dormant right now , haven't had any new lesions and symptoms have become better, however the last couple of weeks my spasms have become horrific. the wires to the brain where lesions already exit are damage , it just depends how your brain short circuits the message as i say to the rest of the body.

Add in the summer temps and yes, it can seem as if they are worsening. Use neck coolers when outside if you can, and try to minimize stress levels. Man's worst enemy is himself. Be positive ☮️ It really can help. Look for the little things, color in a coloring book! Take care of you.

I would say yes you can have worsening symptoms with no new lesions. I have. I have not had any new symptoms that I have never had before however.

Yes I agree that you can have worsening symptoms without any new lesions. I have had flare ups, some serious without new lesions.
