I've been on amitriptyline for around a year 20mgs of it. I decided 6 days ago it wasn't doing anything for me at all so stopped it straight away since then I've been getting stomach cramps I've been sick a few times this week and today I have problems with number two's. How long will this last? If anyone knows. Many thanks.

Hi @A MyMSTeam Memberĺ ☺ Great question! I've been on Amitriptyline 75mg daily for 2 years in an attempt to control my daily chronic migraines. I started at 10mg daily and am finally hanging out at 75mg. Whenever I would start a higher dose, (or miss a few doses) my body/mind would ALWAYS go through, "The Swings." The Swings are the WORST!!!! Mood changes and you feel many withdrawal symptoms that are not fun! I'm finally staying steady with 75mg and I make sure to NOT miss a dose! Much love & strength sent to you!

Amityriptyline contains bromide, which can have an adverse affect on men! Found this out myself, but changed meds once I realised what was causing the oroblem.
