MS had all the effects on me that everyone else has mentioned and cost me my first relationship at age 28 (diagnosed at 24) I had to start my life again and was single for 6 years until I got it in my head that the MS was not going to dictate how I live ,it certainly limits it but just a matter of over coming and finding ways around problems. Now happily married . The MS made me depressed and all the other negative crap but you can adapt , persevere and overcome. Remember no matter how bad there is always someone worse off.

My husband of 27 years could not deal with my diagnosis of MS. Even though I was the one feeling depressed, he was the one who started drinking heavily. This was not helping me at all. He had told me he does not know what MS is and does not want to know, and he is a doctor. Some of the things he said were very hurtful and I had to get out. I now have a man who learned everything he needed to know and we have been together for 6 years. Depression still is a problem, but now I have a strong person I can talk to about it. I say, don't ever give up. there is someone out there that will help

Yes I have found this happens a lot in my relationship. I've been with my partner 10 years.I think my partner finds it hard taking on things that I would usually do. We have the children to look after and a house to maintain and I can't manage anymore. I have days in bed and I just seem to isolate myself from the family. We argue a lot to be honest it's frustrating for both of us but we try and talk it out. Intimacy is almost non existent I just simply have no drive to do anything. Ms has to a certain extent ruined my life. I am 29 years old and feel around 60 years of age. My body is so weak and damaged I fear what the next 5 years may bring. I can't see the positive in things anymore but I do hope that this may change for me.

Fatigue, pain, losing my job, can’t surf anymore, tripping on air, frequent urination has turned my life into napping when my kids do, time for medical missions around the world when I am up to it, more time with my wife and kids, teaching my kids to surf, laughing at myself when I fall and frequently warming up my wetsuit. My only constant in life is change so I constantly change with it to keep having fun.

I too understand.
I deal with depression and my husband is very handy about saying that it is like I am having an affair with someone he can't compete with.
I didn't ask for this illness but he sure knows how to make me feel guilty so I push myself for him then end up feeling resentful and angry.
It is one nasty vicious cycle
