@A MyMSTeam Member it's $150 a week, I wouldn't be complaining if it was $150 a month, believe me. And it's the cost of adding a spouse regardless of health. You don't even want to know what the cost is for adding kids.
Covering just you with a pre-existing condition will probably cost more than what your husband pays to carry you. I checked with an insurance broker once to see if I could get independent coverage to start my own business, he told me with my condition it would be through the roof. Sorry, some day our country might get this health insurance thing right, but I don't see that happening in the near future. Maybe your state has a good program that you could look into, depending on what your level of income is. Take care, it's really frustrating, I know!
Yeouch a week? It sounds like his company has a bad plan. That or his company is only subsidizing his insurance. I know that state laws differ from state to state. However 3 times as much seems excessive. It might be worth researching your local laws & see if his company is in compliance? * The laws are different for small businesses of 50 or less employees. http://healthcoverageguide.org/reference-guide/...
I saw a commercial that Obama did on Nov. 1 about signing up for the ACA and that it's possible to get it as low as $75 a month and they can't gouge you because of pre-existing conditions...maybe check it out, you might qualify for assistance?
