I think your(s) story is pretty familiar to most of ours. Weird, unidentifiable stuff going on must be in your head. In my case, I went 5 years trying to explain to doctors the I knew something weird was going on, only to be told I was being a baby because my athletic skills were being noticeably diminished. For me, it became a perverse relief when I was finally given an MRI and the Neurologist pointed out multiple legions all over the place and what they meant. I really can't blame anyone for trying though, especially when the experts are unable to offer-up too much more...

I had a similar thing happen to me, and it’s so frustrating. Before I was diagnosed with MS, I had slurred speech, and lack of motor control in my right leg and hand. I saw my doctor who told me to go to the ER right away because I had all the signs of a stroke. I went to the ER and they did a bunch of tests, including CT scan of my heart and my brain, EEG etc. After all the tests were done, a neurologist saw me and told me that I hadn’t had a stroke, that it was probably just stress causing the symptoms and I should just go home. My GP ordered an MRI out of an abundance of caution and two months later I was diagnosed with MS. I’m still pissed at the first neurologist for not taking the time to consider whether it was MS.

So I sympathize with you on the summary of the exam you had. I think some neuros just don’t know enough about MS and don’t take the time to educate themselves.

That definition should say it’s a physical condition that cannot be explained or cured by the medical profession so we will just call it mental!, so calling it mental means it doesn’t exist in their minds and all of us are nuts so to speak! I cannot say enough about how hard the medical field is trying to cure this and then comes along a dumb shi@ with their head up their butt who is actually the mental one!, I better shut up because I just got off of prednisone a few days ago and I am a little crazy!, don’t want o give them anymore fodder!! Lol🙄🤓

When I had an MRI in ‘06 they ruled out MS but in 2013 the MRI showed MS lesions. I was told it was because of better technology. So many of our symptoms could be other neurological disorders. Don’t stress about it as stress is not good for you. We just have to keep hoping that advances will happen in our lifetime.

Oh ps months later I ran into the pediatric neuro psychologist at work and told her about the neuropsych tests I had and the conversion disorder.. She chuckled and said you have real neuro issues... I just remembered this conversation now.
