Did any of you guys ever had the experience like you got lights flashing before your eyes....like firefly lights etc......and what was the outcome
From what i've heard, a bit of 'flashing' is normal, MS or not, especially as one ages and the vitreous gel in the eye shrinks a little. I'm no Dr, however, nor do I play one on TV.
I've had a bit of geometric distortion, where I'll be looking at a Word doc on-screen and in my peripheral vision, there will be a curved image of the black characters on the white background. Very strange and disconcerting. Temporary, however.
I've been on Gilenya for 6 weeks and it's known to have some vision effects. I have a follow-up eye exam in April to check whether the Gilenya is impacting my sight, so I'll ask then. This geometric artifact has only occurred once.
The other thing that happens is the computer screen simply goes out of focus for me about halfway through the day, and from that point on, I'm constantly moving my head up and down trying to get a good focus angle through my bifocals. I'll ask about that also.
Every day is a bit of a surprise for us, isn't it?
@A MyMSTeam Member You have to go to a Neuro-ophthalmologist, in fact it was him that diagnosed me with the MS. There’s not many, in fact in my state there are only 3. Good luck 😊
Yes @A MyMSTeam Member! Every day is truly a surprise !
My eyes fluctuate constantly . I never know if I will be able to focus them, or drive that day because of distortion . Double vision kicks in almost everyday. Twitching, straining to focus causes headaches some days....the sparkles
and flashes are common for me...so day by day
I had this years ago and dr's said it was my retina and had to be fixed immidiately. Had no problems after that but am very aware should it happen again. So have it seen to. Had it fixed with laser. No pain and quick
.
1st classic symptom is eye problems, I went temporarily blind in my left eye for 3 weeks. Not picked up as MS significant until13 years later when I was actually diagnosed. I still get flashes, floaters which are manageable but distracting but don’t stop me driving or reading, watching TV. I had Evoked Potentials after diagnosis which showed “Changes consistent with MS”.
