I have what I consider as debilitating low back pain. This pain causes lower extremity weakness. Does anyone else suffer from this?

The fact that you’ve had it for 5 years makes it highly unlikely that it has anything to do with a kidney infection. If you had a kidney infection for 5 years you would surely have other symptoms. It is probably not related to the cervical disc bulges because those levels would correlate with neck pain and not low back pain. The lumbar disc bulges could be involved though. My experience has been that the MS docs tell you pain is related to nerve damage from MS and give you different medications to try. Let’s face it-that’s all they have to offer. I suggest taking your MRIs to a pain management specialist to see if they can offer you some diagnostic and possibly therapeutic injections-or some other treatment that may help the pain. Once you get some help for the pain you could try PT to see if that could help you move better and possibly correct faulty movement patterns you may have. Sorry if this sounds negative but I’m going through this myself and they have given me so many drugs I could barely walk and all it did was make things worse. I haven’t found relief yet but injections have helped a little. Good luck I hope you have better luck than I have had. I certainly hope I don’t have to have this pain the rest of my life.
