I've been on Tysabri for almost 8 1/2 yrs and have had no hair loss. If it is a side effect, it is not a common side effect. There are many possible reasons for hair loss -- including thyroid issues, stress, hormones, etc. I would suggest you talk to your primary care doctor and get blood work done, to rule other reasons out before assuming it is the Tysabri.

I did not take bioton. Did for a week and kept forgetting.

I also lost a lot of hair in tysabri. It thinnned out by what felt to ne like half but probably was not. All my hair is growing bavk although it is growing back curly which makes it look frizzy, but i manage this using a product and straightener if really bad. Try not to stress as i did when i started losing my hair. Became very emotional and made my symptoms worse. It will stop falling out and it will grow back!

Biotin( Commonly known as vitamin B7) is a vitamin that aids in hair and nail health. There's no gaurantee that if will help your situation but you might consider asking you doctor .

Some back history about HIgh Dose Biotin with regards to MS.

Back about 5 years ago or so there was a small trial study done in France using high dose Biotin. There was some promising results that came out of that studay. Fast foward to today. There are some USA Neurologists that will RX high dose biotin but Medicare and Insurance will not cover the cost as it's not been FDA approved in the treatment of MS. Any RX for Biotin has to paid for out of pocket and the RX has to be processed by a compounding pharmacy. @ BridgetJaneCassidy the high dose compounded version does not apply to your situation. If your doctor thinks it will help with the hair he/she will most likely tell you to just use an over the counter form.
