Hey everyone
I've just started taking 20mg Copaxone injection daily. Its only been 4days, but I'm finding each site has a different feel/reaction after the injection. Some feel like a Bee sting, while others give me muscle twitches(like an eye twitch), and others feel like I've been punched and muscles quite sore. With those who are on or have taken Copaxone, how long did the "pain" at the injection site last? Again I know its very early in my routine to be concerned, but am finding it hard to… read more

I agree with Cindy but would add ask your doctor to retrain you on using the auto injector. I never got comfortable injecting in the back of my arms and those injections hurt for longer than they should have, at least to me. My auto injector levels got messed up once and after a nurse explained how the levels should be set, I had a lot fewer problems. Amanda, it's OK if the auto injector levels aren't exactly right. You're close to the right settings or to trying another DMD that is hurting you.

I experience stinging after, but not every time. Stopped using my arms, bad welts and swelling there. I inject where the most Chubb is, after all, @Copaxone is to be injected into fatty tissue. Maybe yore sore muscles are due to hitting the muscles? If using auto jet try adjusting the depth...it really takes some fooling around with but when you get it dialed in, its really nothing. Call shared solutions and talk to them, they'll Send the nurse back out... good luck

Hi I have been taking Copaxone for almost 10 years. 20mg injection. There is some getting used to doing the injections. Make sure you rotate the injection sites. Use a cold pack and put on site after you take your injection. There are some issues with swelling and if you get a bump\lump massage it after a few days to help the bump go away. I am not sure if you have a copaxone med nurse or if your neurologist has told you about the possible reactions. Hope this helps if you have any other questions you may ask me. Lisa

I used to take copaxone 20mg and also found it extremely painful at times. I’m not sure how your thighs feel after you inject at that site but I found it a lot less painful then anywhere else! Keep on trying you will eventually find a go to spot.

Rob136... funny you should ask.. my Nuro did originally prescribe me the 3x week, but it's not covered for financial assistance in Canada. I cant afford it on my own. My employer benifits doesn't even come close to covering the cost of the drug. Unfortunately my only option is the daily injection.
I wonder what would be worse?? 40mg 3xweek or 20mg 1xday??
Enjoy your day out there *hugs*
