My neurologist is having me discontinue Tecfidera in order to start Ocrevus. Has anyone stopped Tecfidera and experience any side effects?
I am seventy years old. The general consensus is that your immune system slows down with age. My MRIs show no new lesions for the past six years. The neurologists here in Tallahassee and Gainesville said I could discontinue Tecfidera. I stopped taking it last month and the only thing that I have noticed is that my nose does not run as much and maybe I am not as sensitive to sunlight.
I stopped Tecfidera in March and had my infusion of Ocrevus in April. I had no side effects stopping the Techfidera. I did go to the dentist for a cleaning a couple of months after stopping and the hygienist was so surprised that my gums were not bleeding and asked what was different? The only thing that changed was stopping the Techfidera. I was instructed to stop it at least 30 days before the infusion. I did the infusions of Ocrevus with no side effects or issues after. I have not noticed any "Improvement" after but at least it's only every 6 months. I love your picture with your dog. What kind of dog is he/she? What is his/her name? My picture is of my 2 daughters, the furry one, is Gracie a rescue dog that is Am Bulldog/Pitbull/Lab/?? and the other non furry one is my daughter Marlena. Good luck with your infusions.
@A MyMSTeam Member So much faith in the FDA. Opiates did not make into drug stores by accident. Meaning, on purpose. Now trust them? I don't.
Yes. She said my MRI shows nothing new and never has. Well, my brain gets smaller from 2014 to 2016. My MS seems steady in 2018. Dr. Hanlon says it's not RR it looks more like PP.
