To fulfill criteria you need both dissemination in time and space meaning you need evidence either clinical objective evidence (ie physical exam findings) or radiographic evidence ie mri findings of two different events in two different areas of the central nervous system ie typical MS type brain lesions in different areas (ie cortex, brainstem etc) or brain +spinal cord. Until you have enough findings they have to wait until you develop another event/new lesion or finding to officially make the diagnosis. Thats likely why for now you are getting the “wait and see” answer. Making the diagnosis is tricky so you really do need to see an MS specialist.
I'm in the same boat as you! I'm having my testing repeated this month. Brain MRI, spinal MRI, EEG, evoked potentials. Ask for a spinal MRI. Some lesions show up there. If you've not had all three sections done, request it.
@A MyMSTeam Member...The only other thing I know is Lupus or Lyme disease mimicking MS. I was diagnosed by a neuro-surgeon using brain/spine MRI and spinal tap. Then I went to the UCLA Med Center for a 2nd opinion. Confirmed as MS. My best to u in achieving a speedy diagnosis. 💞
Hi @A MyMSTeam Member!. Your story is frustrating, and most of us have gone through it. My first visit was similar to yours. Not sure where you live, but I recommend seeing a Neurologist who specializes in MS. You should google MSnational clinic. They should be able to give you the chapter nearest you, who can provide you with names of MS doctors who’s practice is primarily MS.
Good Luck. Hope you are able to find what you need
I am trying to find a good one now thank you very much #Mo74
