I don't remember where I read it but I thought I read that oranges are bad for MS. I was just wondering if anyone has knowledge of this. I could be remembering incorrect info. 🤔
Nope. All I found is that orange juice isn't great since it's so high in sugar (which can be bad if you're trying to improve your gut health like many of us MSers are), people usually drink more than a healthy serving size, and you don't get all the fiber and other benefits like you do when you actually eat the piece of fruit.
Pretty much everything in life has aspects that are deemed "good" and "bad" depending on how you look at it. It's all about balance IMHO.
Oranges and orange juice are not good for the blader if you get a lot of infections
Have heard, read, and been told by my doctor that grapefruit is bad for me as a woman/ because of medication/ and relating to MS, but have not heard of any other citrus impacting MS.
@A MyMSTeam Member VIT C is good especially for lead poisoning as I had many years ago. But as I have written everything is poison if you abuse it.
I was told this by 1 of my first doctors. OJ is a good source of VIT C which goes against trying to defuse an over active immune system. Look, I don't know whether to follow this or not but I rarely drink OJ anymore though I think we'd be hard pressed to cut VIT C from our diets. I find myself thinking of a George Carlin bit where he said salvia is toxic but only when taken in small amounts over a long period of time.
