Many of you with MS are saying you've had shingles....well I had a really nasty bout of chicken pox when I was about 15 which I know is related to the shingles virus....and always suffered with cold sores during summer and winter (herpes simplex 1 virus?)...
I wonder if this is a link to MS....because I know I was very ill and nearly hospitalised at 15...and viruses are often CNS lovers and killers.

Would love to hear your past experiences of viruses as children, teenagers, adults etc

There is shingles without the rash: zoster sine herpete. It goes undiagnosed a lot because, obviously there’s no rash.
Interestingly enough, I had my titers for Varicella checked in 2015 before I started school. I had no immunity to the virus even though I had as a kid. After having had shingles, my titers were sky high. Immunity starts at 91. My titers were well over 1,000. I think that the body will reboost itself when immunity gets too low.
We aren’t exposed to varicella in the wild anymore with the new Chicken Pox vaccine so we aren’t getting the micro doses of immunity we used to. I think all adults should check their titers and get the vaccine before your body decides to the handle the situation on its own.
But, that’s just my theory.

@A MyMSTeam Member life does happen. Your children are proof that we have unique systems and one experience does not negate the other. I pray we do not become a 100% desensitized society.

@A MyMSTeam Member You gotta take the L-Lysine. It's the preventive, zinc is the healer. L-Lysine is a precursor to L-Carnitine, which if you take it too it will help relieve neuropathy and start healing those nerves.
I sound like a walking medical reference know-it-all. If I weren't so squeamish I'd have gone into medicine. I've been studying natural healing for 35 years. Wish I could remember all of it lol
