The retention of gadolinium has only been found in brains via autopsy. As far as I know, there is no way of showing that while we are alive.

I've had all my MRI's over the past 11 years with gadolinium. This past one I was very concerned about retention in the brain so had a series of communiques with the radiation department of the hospital. They told me they use the "latest generation of gad that is microsized" and they felt there is no long term danger. I opted to again use the contrast.

I've also spoken with my neuro about this. He told me they can detect MS lesions without contrast but that any active lesions will fail to "flair" because contrast is needed.

Truth 💞I called that number and they said I didn’t qualify for the legal lawsuit even though I have been given this contrast over the years of having mri with ms? What do you do? Keep Faith in God🙏🏾💯🎊🎉

I was diagnosed with MS approximately 10 years prior to the MRI being available. I had my first MRI with gadolinium contrast in the early 1980's. I have had an MRI with gadolinium contrast every 3 to 4 years since. I have not experienced any problems from the gadolinium contrast. If you are concerned please discuss your concerns with the doctor who prescribed the MRI.
