I have nystagmus in my right eye. It bothers me when I'm tired or I don't feel well. My glasses help.
@A MyMSTeam Member I have vertigo also. Am going to PT for it. They put the beads back together and it helps for a long while. I had it done 10 years ago and now need it again.
Wish I had more to tell you about other than my cousin who had it in both eyes (horizontal). I have prismed glasses. I have optic nerve drusens (hereditary) in both eyes. The prismed glasses are to try to get light in areas where there isn't any. I have only 1/4 of field vision left in both eyes. Take a pie and cut it into 4 pieces then remove 3 pieces. I don't see black or gray in those areas, there's simply nothing there. I didn't mean to ramble on, I thought maybe this information might help someone. Hug
Nystagmus I hope this helps.
Nystagmus, or uncontrolled horizontal or vertical eye movements, may be mild — only occurring when the person looks to the side — or it may be severe enough to impair vision. Some medications and special prisms have been reported to be successful in treating the visual deficits caused by nystagmus and a related eye-movement disorder, opsoclonus, which causes "jumping vision."
I have heard the same from several friends; however their gray vision corrected. I am very sorry that you’re did not!
I experience mild episodes of optic neuritis that includes stabbing pain into the eye followed by blurry and double vision with absence of letters that are in worrds. I cannot read, drive nor watch TV when these events occur.
Also my peripheral vision is impaired.
Keep up your fight and sensible adjustments stments to which your family will adjust and accept the new lighting norm in your home!
Bless your heart!
When I was first diagnosed I woke up one day and everything was grey. No color to be found. It finally came back a couple days later and seemed to be fine until this past summer when The same thing happened so after many tests to see what was going on, I am now legally blind in my left eye. They thought as first it was optic nephritis, turns out it is not uncommon for people with M.S. to loose sight and it does effect the eyes. Learning to live with it but it took a while,, still not quite there but it's getting better learning my limitations and changing some of the lighting around in the house. It's an adjustment for everyone in the house, but if you educate them they seem to understand it a bit more.
