Members discussed whether tingling in a new area signals a relapse for MS, with many sharing that it depends on the pattern and duration of symptoms. Several members noted that doctors are often unclear about what counts as a relapse versus regular MS symptoms, and encouraged others to advocate for themselves by asking for steroids when something feels like a flare. A recurring theme was the importance of learning your own body, staying cool and rested, and finding gratitude in managing day-to-day symptoms with grace.

Well I’ve had Intermittent tingling for the last twenty five years. It is residual. Not a flare up. Things will aggravate it such as heat. It’s something I’ve always had.

Ir was with me early on. If all tingling ceases then new tingling begins, it's a relapse. If it's just tingling in a new area (you have tingles in other areas), then your relapse is spreading. That's how I understand it.

I dont know why the docs arent being clear as to inform ms patients what is considered an exerbation or relaspse. If its not intense, and you need hospitalization, its not a relaspse, just ms being ugly. Thete are so so many querky things, i cant even begin to name them all, because it can be something very minimal, to something hugh and painful and it wont be a relaspe.
