This crazy disease!! I never knew it could effect us in so many ways!! And the medications, some of them seem to be worse than the MS.

@A MyMSTeam Member I’ve only had one set of MRIs so I guess that will serve as my baseline. I was diagnosed 8 months ago and this is my 4th medicine to try :( Ive had reactions to Copaxone, Tecfidera, and Aubagio. Now giving Avonex a try. So far no problems other than the pens that “lock up” and won’t inject. So does hour Dr. think the Avonex caused the spinal plaques?

I tried to use the Avonex pen but couldn't push the pen to inject. I did't have the strength so went back to injections with the needle. I was on Avonex when I was first diagnosed and stayed on it for about 11 years.

Hey question: did you have a baseline MRI of your spine before you started Avonex? My new specialist (neuro who only sees MS patients) says AVONEX works very well on brain placques but exaserbates spinal placques. It's why I'm now on Glatopa. I developed spinal placques ... 😟

My injections have ALWAYS worked better w/o the pen. You can do it without the pen!!
