Has anyone tried to OMS (Overcoming M S) diet and what do they think of it??? Mary
To KTontherocks, many thanks for your reply and link, this will give me something to work on. Many thanks xx
I have tried it - it definitely helped me, however, I found it really hard to maintain over time tho and had some bad reactions when I ate off plan. Now my integrated med DR (who also has MS) has us (and the rest of her MS patients) on the MITO food plan and it's great - I've been able to eat that way for about 3 years now and it really helps. She recommends the MITO because it is specifically designed to target mitochondria health which battles MS fatigue - and wow, do I notice that if I eat too much off plan. Anyways, you'll notice lots of similarities between the plans, and eating better certainly won't hurt us! I'm attaching a link here where you can download the plan if you'd like (there's recipes and shopping guides there too - as well as the elimination diet and a bunch of other great resources, like the rainbow recipes - YUM!). The elimination diet really helped me to identify foods that were triggering inflammation for me. Now that I know to avoid those foods I'm not having the issues I was before. Hope you land on a plan that's right for you soon! XX

To Gaye, many thanks for your reply, I want to do the diet but concerned about not going off track as it seems very hard core, any tips for keeping on track?? Maryx
I am on a non-inflammatory diet now for about 8 months. It has helped shrink the lesions, and I have lost weight too (21 lbs!) There are many websites which will tell you the diet. It's not easy, but after a while you don't mind it. Over Thanksgiving I cheated a bit and could really tell a difference. Good luck!
