I’m really confused.
Too much vitamin D could be toxic, so get your neuro to discuss with you
Best to ask your doctor because it is different for each person
You should be able to ask your neuro to order a blood test for you to show what your Vit D levels are. I'm infused with a DMD every 6 months, not the drug you may have seen on the TV, and every once in a while, I ask my neuro to have my Vit D level checked. The infusion center I go to draws the blood, yes it's mine, and emails me test results, often minutes later. The results are compared to highs and lows of where the center expects them to be. The results will give you a better handle on whether you need to change your intake of Vit D. The tests I've gotten really help me know if my level is high enough or too high. I get your confusion but I would want to know how my levels are compared to where the center says they should be between.
I take 4 thousand IU daily as recommended by my neurologist 😊
I’ve read that it should be about 1,000 -2,000 IU per day
I take 4,000 iu per day
I think the toxic dose is about 60,000 IU/ day
I got this from the Mayo Clinic
“ Taking 60,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity. This level is many times higher than the U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for most adults of 600 IU of vitamin D a day.”
