Hi, I was diagnosed with MS 35 years ago. I had 2 seizures within the first few months and I took anti-epilepsy tablets for a little while. When I stopped taking the tablets it led to no more seizures and I have had none since.
After much reading over many years though, I have always known that seizures are slightly more common in people with MS.
One different thing is that, when I was diagnosed, there were no DMTs and I have never tried any. Most of my most horrible symptoms were early in my disease and some of them went away but I have now had secondary progressive for a few years and my walking has become much worse now & I hate how I walk!!!
I've had MS fpr 43 years. Never had a seizure. I didn't know they were part of MS symptomse. No Dr. or neurologist has ever mentioned it to me and I haven't seen anything in the many things I've read over the years until now.
i have ms for over 20 years and have been taking keppra for at least 13 years. i have seizures but don't like calling them that but don't know what else they are. i get an aura, shake a little and 30 seconds later i'm fine. totally weird. get them maybe once a month.
I have had MS for close to 20 yrs and have never had a seizure, except when trying new medications. I can't take any medication for my MS due to allergic reactions and sensitivity to medications as a rule. I feel so much better treating my MS naturally than medicinally. I do take quite a few vitamins and minerals. I eat nothing but an organic diet. I do a lot of organic smoothies. Very little meat and try to keep sugar out of my diet as much as possible. I also keep an exercise regimen. Do a lot of word puzzles to try to help with brain fog. I do my best to keep myself busy and active. I don't know if that has anything to do with not having seizures or not. My lesions are also on my brain stem. One thing I have found is no two people seem to have the same symptoms. I've just recently gone through quite a spell of muscle spasms. I also purchased and try to follow Dr. Wahl's eating regimen. Good read and her cookbook has really good recipes. I suggest it for anyone who has MS. I pray yours will cease. Good luck to you!
I never had seizures till i was diagnosed with MS. Since I have had 2. Basically the last one for sure was related to a undiagnosed raging uti. I just lost consciousness. Got an ambulance ride and am now on anti seizure drugs. Woohoo me. That happened a year ago.are you on seizure medication andcstill having them?
