Everyone always says to wear the correct shoes. But WHAT IS A GOOD SHOE?! I trip over everything!
I have foot drop and have a custom brace they recommend supported tennis shoes. It does make a difference
Hiya, Have you asked about Ankle Foot orthotics (AFO) they stop your foot dropping, mine took a while to get used to, but it has reduced trips for me.
I have bad foot drop and use custom braces and needed to get my sneakers in a size bigger and wider, it helps me very much. But the braces are very expensive but the MS society can help with cost!
So, for shoes, irregardless (It is a word. 1748 Oxford I believe) of whether/not you have custom made orthoses, my Podiatrist, who is was Top Surgeon in the USA at least two years in a row, recommended wearing New Balance. Like in the $180-ish range. Get a walking shoe, with their ROLLER-Ball technology. It is a stiffer soled shoe. Works brilliantly with EVERY type of AFO. New Balance is all he wears. I figure if they're good enough for my Podiatrist, they're good enough for me. I LOVE them. They are freaking comfy. And, they have stores around the country that sell them. But, honestly, their shipping is so fast, you'll likely before a week out.

I just like the shoe.

Those aren't mine. Myine are grey with teal.
I recommend the StepSmart brace. I have used one for 6 or 7 years and it fits in regular sneakers and keeps your toe up so you don’t trip.
