Members shared personal experiences exploring whether MS is hereditary, with some finding multiple cases in their families and others being the only one affected. Several members noted that their doctors said MS is not strictly hereditary but may run in families or be linked to the area where someone grew up. A recurring theme was confusion around the difference between hereditary and familial patterns, with many finding comfort in sharing their stories with others navigating the same question.

I was told 36 years ago , no M.S. Is not hereditary...I did blood tests, found out where the M.S. came from before me in my family ( Fathers side, Great Grand Aunt JaneFroman) 9 years ago, my oldest Daughter now 33, was diagnosed with M.S., coincidence?

My oldest daughter and I both have MS....she was diagnosed before 15 years ago.I was diagnosed later in life 10 years ago.I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and luckily she doesn't but we still have a few of the same symptoms. We have 1other family member with it.My cousins daughter. I'm a believer that it runs in families. 🤔

Yes read an article like that too. Not hereditary but can run in families, don’t understand either.
