I’ve only had one infusion (2 half doses for an initial full dose) and I’m now two and a half weeks away from my second infusion May 7. I have been feeling horrible since the end of March/beginning of April. I’ve been wondering if it is crap gap. I’m wondering if I should have chosen the monthly injection treatment instead. This is a horrible feeling.

I remember that day of 1/2 dose 2 week apart…… i put my crutches down and was able to walk again. Then after a yr nothing new came up ;-) sleep was back to 8hr night. But just like other things slowly appeared/noticed till my first flare up that made me use crutches. Full overview —- 2019 was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS, nothing i needed to talk/notice at 45 after 15yrs complaining to my doc of things didnt seem right, he blamed it on drinking/alcohol to much. One month after second Vax was when i couldnt walk ;-( then lost my job after 2 yrs ;-(

Now on my 5 Ocrevus injection, life sucks, the way i look at this started 15yrs back and the little things were all part of it, so now at a level of once a month ops in my pants, waiting for the Longterm disability to start has taken exactly 1yr denied first try in Feb and have a review next month.

2000 Vertigo might of started my MS
2019- diagnosed PPMS. No one knew
2021 - after Vax, couldnt walk Ocrevus started every 6 months rest of life.
2023 applied
2024 i hope cash comes

2015 first time couldnt hold bathroom, escalated to once a month OPs happens, depending on timing, diaper warn lots now ;-(

A look ahead that i have only learned as bad happens

The "crap gap" refers to periods of worsening symptoms that some people with multiple sclerosis (MS) experience between their intravenous infusions of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). This phenomenon is also known as the wearing-off effect. It typically occurs when the effects of the last infusion begin to diminish before the next scheduled infusion, or right after an infusion before the medication starts to take effect. Common symptoms during the crap gap include:

- **Fatigue**: A profound sense of tiredness and lack of energy.
- **Cognitive Symptoms**: Often referred to as "brain fog" or "cog fog," affecting memory, focus, and cognitive clarity.
- **Motor Function and Balance Issues**: Difficulties with coordination and stability.
- **Sensory Symptoms**: Experiencing burning, tingling, or pins-and-needles sensations.

This gap can be particularly challenging and may lead to discussions with healthcare providers about adjusting treatment plans, possibly switching to DMTs that are administered orally or through self-injection, which are less likely to be associated with a crap gap.
