I'm not overly concerned about the shots part as I'm diabetic and i used to poke my fingers 6 time or more daily, and take 2 insulin shots, Lantus once daily and Regular before meals, and as a corrector 3 or more times a day. Now I wear Dexcom G7 and it monitors me for 10 days at a time.
I had a C-Section back in 92 and well, my stomach is 95% numb. Good thing.
I use the generic. The only drawback imo is sometimes having some welts but I use benedryl cream afterward and an ice pack
I wouldn't call issues I had with Copaxone draw backs in that, for a while, it was an effective drug for me. I do have an area of discolored skin on my belly from my attempt at an injection of the drug. This one of many injections though. Once the settings on your auto injector are set, don't change them. I forgot their use and inexplicable changed them and now know don't. Know up front that you may give yourself a improper injection and have a reaction. You WILL be fine but the first time this happens and you aren't aware it happens to many, you will wonder. Other than that, I did well on Copaxone for a few years
Copaxone is considered one of the most benign drugs, besides the pokes and welts and liposese that is associated with it. I injected it for 4 years daily and only thing I hated about it was the daily pokes. that was before the 3 X weekly dosage. Have heard some have not great rxns to it but I never had that and I usually find the worst side effects of any med I take.
I was prescribed Copaxone as my first treatment. I started out with daily shots, then moved to 3x a week due to running out of spots to inject on my body. Some down sides I noted with this medicine is the welts on my body (legs, stomach) that are irreversible and I had a relapse that ended me up in the hospital while I was on the medication.
